הקיבה מתרחבת במשך הזמן - איך ניתן למנוע הגדלה של כמויות אוכל?

כל מי שעבר ניתוח בריאטרי מזהה במשך הזמן שהוא מצליח לאכול כמויות גדולות יותר מבעבר. בדרך כלל, הפעם הראשונה שבה נתקלים בהרגשה הזו היא כחצי שנה אחרי הניתוח. התחושה היא שבצקת בתוך הקיבה יורדת ושריר הקיבה מעט מתרחב.

מצב זה עלול להלחיץ מטופלים ולייצר תחושה של חוסר ביטחון והרגשת אבדון, כאשר משווים את נפח הקיבה, אשר היה חודש אחרי הניתוח לעומת הנפח חצי שנה אחרי הניתוח.

קודם כל, חשוב מאוד להבין שמצב זה טבעי לתקופה שאחרי הניתוח והכמויות יגדלו לאורך הזמן. בדרך כלל אחרי שנה מהניתוח, הכמויות הופכות להיות יציבות. אם הצלחתי לאכול בארוחה צלחת קטנה במקום 3 כפות שהיו חודש אחרי הניתוח, הדבר טבעי ותקין.
